AWS Certified AI Business Strategist (AIB-C01) is in beta, and the AWS Official Practice Exam is not available while it is. This practice exam fills that gap: 85 scenario-based questions, the same count as the real exam, distributed exactly to the official domain weights — 20 on AI Fundamentals and Literacy (24%), 24 on AI Strategy and Business Value Creation (28%), 20 on AI Governance and Responsible AI Leadership (24%), and 21 on Business Readiness, Leadership, and AI Transformation (24%).
Every item is written in the style of the actual exam: a two-to-four-sentence business scenario, then a question that asks which option is MOST appropriate, BEST, or LEAST costly. Every distractor is a plausible business action, not an obvious throwaway, so the only way to score well is to reason the way the exam wants a strategist to reason.
Every question includes a "why this is correct" explanation that states the principle being tested and explains why the other options fail — and names the exam guide skill it maps to, so a wrong answer sends you straight back to the right lesson in the companion course.
The questions rehearse the decisions the exam is built around: rules versus AI, RAG versus fine-tuning, tokens and context windows, build-buy-partner, scale-pause-terminate, baselines and ROI, consumption versus instance versus seat pricing, responsible AI tradeoffs, risk classification, the shared responsibility model, readiness and maturity, and scaling from pilot to enterprise. Amazon Bedrock, Amazon SageMaker AI, and Amazon Quick appear at the strategic level the exam tests, and out-of-scope services appear only as the distractors they are.
Earn the certification by February 15, 2027 and AWS awards an additional Early Adopter digital badge. Beta results are released only after the beta window closes, so there is no second chance to rehearse under realistic conditions before your attempt — this exam is designed to be that rehearsal.
What's covered
- Classifying a business problem as rule-based automation, classical ML, generative AI, or an AI agent
- Diagnosing context-window, token-cost, hallucination, drift, and pipeline failures from their symptoms
- Choosing between prompt engineering, RAG, and fine-tuning for a stated business need
- Making build-buy-partner decisions and reading vendor terms on data usage and exit
- Applying scale, pause, or terminate verdicts to an AI portfolio — including when AI is the wrong answer
- Defending a business case with baselines, adoption-adjusted ROI, leading indicators, and TCO
- Matching consumption, instance, and seat-based AWS pricing to a workload pattern
- Resolving responsible AI tradeoffs such as accuracy versus regulatory explainability
- Classifying AI use cases by risk tier and assigning proportionate governance
- Applying the AWS shared responsibility model and least-privilege access to AI systems
- Reading readiness and maturity assessments and choosing the right next investment
- Selecting scaling approaches that preserve business continuity, oversight, and workforce readiness
- Spotting the five distractor patterns the exam uses, including technical-implementation and out-of-scope-service answers
Requirements
- No coding, no hands-on AWS experience, and no prior AWS certification — none is required for the real exam either
- Basic familiarity with AI concepts such as machine learning, generative AI, and foundation models
- Ideally, completion of the companion AIB-C01 course or equivalent study of all four exam guide domains
- Roughly 130 minutes set aside to take the exam in one sitting under timed conditions, matching the standard exam duration
- A copy of the free official AIB-C01 exam guide from AWS for reviewing the skill referenced in each explanation
Who this exam is for
- Candidates who have finished studying for AIB-C01 and want one full-length, realistically weighted rehearsal before booking the beta
- Product managers, program managers, and line-of-business leaders who evaluate, fund, or govern AI initiatives
- Sales, business development, and marketing professionals who position AI-enabled offerings or assess vendors
- Consultants and business analysts who build AI business cases, governance programs, and readiness assessments for clients
- Technical professionals adding strategic AI business judgment alongside AWS Certified AI Practitioner or other technical certifications
- Anyone aiming to earn the certification before February 15, 2027 and claim the Early Adopter badge
- This exam is not for you if you want hands-on AWS labs, coding practice, or model-building exercises — the real exam explicitly excludes those, and so does this practice test
